Name: Garlic
History: Was eaten as a vegetable in medieval Europe, also believed to ward
off vampires. Egyptians swore oaths on it, and Romans used it to strengthen
them in battle. It is believed to cure hemlock poison, and has been used at
times as a disinfectant.
