Weapon Attacks: Speed, Quality, Skill

view latest version

When attacking with a weapon, you may make multiple attacks per round. How many attacks your weapon makes will depend on your weapon skills, the quality of the weapon, and the speed of the weapon. It will also vary with your stats depending on the type of weapon.

Each individual attack has the same chance to strike for damage, and each attack can be dodged, blocked, or parried separately.

Weapon speed and maximum damage per attack are usually closely linked. In most cases, the maximum damage is equal to the weapon speed plus one. The result is that weapons which do a small amount of damage will make many attacks, while a weapon which does a large amount of damage will make fewer attacks.

Both the speed of the weapon and the quality can only be shown with the armslore skill.

####Weapon Types

####Weapon Speed
The armslore stats for the weapon will give a numerical value for the speed of the weapon. The lower this number, the higher the number of attacks you may attempt with the weapon. A skilled fighter wielding a weapon with a speed of 2 may attack up to 18 times per round. That same fighter using a weapon with a speed of 18 might only attempt 4 attacks in a round.

####Weapon Quality
The weapon quality will show in the final line of the armslore stats for the weapon. The higher the quality, the higher the number of attacks which the weapon may make.

Quality is often referred to using a numeric scale from 0 to 5. The message to numeric values are as follows:

Armslore message Quality
This is a weapon of poor quality 0
This is a weapon of average quality 1
This is a weapon of good quality 2
This is a weapon of very good quality 3
This is a weapon of high/extremely high quality 4
