###Are there Quests? How do I do Them?

###Topics

The short answer is yes. Legend has many fun quests, of varied difficulty, and varied rewards. Some quests can be done easily at low levels, some you need to be a higher level for you to successfully complete, and others might require a group effort.

####Starting a Quest

Starting a quest usually involves talking to a mob (aka NPC), in some situations, the mob may speak to you when you enter a place for the first time. So, pay attention to what is happening around you. If you suspect a mob might have a quest, a good place to start is to ASK <mobname> help. Not all quest mobs will respond to this, but it is a good general starting place. Sometimes, it is just a question of trying different keywords until you find the one that works. Usually, there are clues within the area. Mobs will sometimes do something, or might mention something or someone, there might be hints in the room description or objects nearby, or even in the description of the mob itself. These are all great ways to find topics to ask mobs about when trying to find out if there is a quest to start or not. Some quests require you to say an exact phrase or sentence to the mob, others just the right keyword will do. Usually, if the mob tells you to say something, it is easiest to say exactly what they tell you to say.

So, go out there and have fun talking to every mob you meet, but remember not all mobs give quests.

####Quest Rewards

Quest rewards vary among quests. Some quests will give experience, some will reward you with eq, some will permanently change your base stats, some will give you faction, and some will give you a whois. Type whois <playername> (when the player is online) to see what quests a person might have completed. Some quests will give you a combination of rewards. Some will only give you one. Most quests are only able to be completed once per character, a few others you may repeat.

####Stat Quests

Stat quests are a special case. There are quests in the game that will permanently boost your base stats. You may complete them once for each character. There is no way to undo the quest once it has been done. There is one for each of the stats, and some where you have some choice in which stat is affected. Generally, these quests aren't too difficult to do, but it may be a good idea to have a few levels under your belt before you attempt them. Some are easier than others, and some quests themselves are easy but have aggressive mobs between you and the end of the quest. Don't worry about it too much while you learn the game. There's no difference whether you do the quest at level 15 or 50. You get the same stat boost, no matter what level you complete the quest. And especially with the quests that give you the option of what stats to affect, there can be benefits of putting off doing the quest until you are sure which stat you want to be affected.
