You will use the following commands:
recipe smithing
recipe smithing [name]
smith [tool/component] [tool/component] [component] [component] etc
other items in the room can impact your abilty to execute a smithing iteration. sometimes you just need to move all other items out of the room.

Step 1 : Skill 1 to 10

  • Go to the Smith shop and buy a double-faced sledge hammer and a cold chisel
  • Find or buy an anvil and forge
  • Go to the Ore merchant and buy 25 small ore (500g each)
  • Convert all your small ore to iron bits (Recipe Keyword - orebits): smith double-faced cold ore

Step 2 : Skill 10 to 20

  • Go to the Smith shop and buy a ball peen hammer hot set
  • Buy charcoal from the Smithy's workshop (will be consumed)
  • Go to the Ore merchant and buy small ore (500g each)
  • (Recipe Keyword - lowsteel3): smith ball hot ore charcoal

Step 3 : Skill 20 to 40

  • Go to the Smith shop and buy a ball peen hammer and a bolster plate
  • Time to make (Recipe Keyword - rivets01): smith ball bolster bits
  • Consumes iron bits.
  • Repeat until you are at 40

Step 4 : Skill 40 to 85

  • Go to the Smith shop and buy a ball peen hammer and a hand mandrel
  • Go to the ore supplies shop and buy small ore
  • Time to make iron rings Recipe Keyword - ironrings): smith ball mandrel ore
  • Repeat until you are at 85

Step 5: Skill 86 to 90+

  • Go to the Smith shop and buy a ball peen hammer, closed bit tongs, angle bit tongs, hot set, X charcoal

  • Go to the ore supplies shop and buy small ore

  • Make metal rivets (double-faced sledge hammer, hot chisel, small block of ore, pile of charcoal).

  • Start by making small, low quality steel (same as step #2): smith ball hot ore charcoal

  • Time to make steel rings: (Recipe Keyword - steelrings) smith ball closed angle block rivets

  • Repeat until you are at 90+
    Now you can repair gear without wasting a practice!!!
