Go to canada and find the longhouse, killing all the indians until you reach the ceremonial box. FOLLOW SELF, OPEN BOX, CLOSE BOX. Go to the Mohawk chief. FOLLOW SELF. He gives you a peace pipe. SIT, HOLD PIPE. After he finishes his explanation, find your favorite animal and sleep in front of it. You may have to sleep a long time. Eventually, your animal guide will speak to you while you are asleep.

The animal's description will hint towards their stats. For example the eagle you want to find will mention perception and strength related traits: "With piercing eyes able to see the slightest movement, this majestic bird is highly prized for its feathers by indian warriors. Strong wings enable it to stay aloft for long amounts of time before heading to its aerie."
