[Disclaimer] This quest is not able to be fully completed unless harness is enabled.
Step 1:
Go to the Orkney tavern and ask the bartender Aethelstan wine, he responds: 'My wagon full o' fine wines was set upon by the bacaudae just at the edge o'town'. Buy a large sack from him. Open the stable door, go south, then open another stable door in the southern direction. Now somehwere in the middle of Orkney you should see a toy wagon laying on the ground (you can also get one from a child's corpse if you have the heart of a grinch). Put the toy wagon in the sack and close the sack immediately, the use of delimeter helps here. Make sure the sack stays closed this entire time, we will need it for a wizard to make it full size down the road (pun intended).
Step 2:
Many of the steps that follow are most likely interchangable. Go south to Aquae Sulis and stop by the Falcon Inn, from there travel three times in the westerly direction then enter the wine shop to the south. Here you will find the wineseller and you should see the three kinds of wine available for purchase arranged on the floor. You cannot buy the wine like normal, why would it be that easy? You need to ask wineseller [type] of wine, he then says how much it will cost, hand him the appropriate amount of coins and then he will carefully select a jug of [type] wine and present it to you. Buy one of the three kinds of wine. If these are too heavy for you, or you are a recovering alcoholic that is not comfortable holding them head to the east of Orkney and put them on the broken wagon.
Step 3:
Head to the Roman Garrison towards the southeast of Britannia. Once inside go all north until you reach The Drill Field and see a wooden wagon, one wheel broken and useless, that sits there in the mud (familiar isn't it). Get wheel wagon. Now head back to the wagon near Orkney and use the syntax: repair wagon wheel. You should see a message: 'The old wagon looks quite serviceable now. Harness a couple of draft animals to the front hitch and you should be able to use it'.
Step 4:
Head to Tara, and enter the stables, there you will most likely find a groom looking like he just awoke from a nap. Kill him and retrieve a nice ripe apple from the corpse. Head back to the Roman Garrison and look around for a dusty old mule. This is the part that took me quite a while to figure out so I will share. Examining the mule says:
One of the most stubborn animals about, you're not sure why anyone would keep one around. If you did
manage to get the animal to do what you wanted, it could be a valuable resource for pulling carts or plows.
Of course, that is IF you can get it to do what you want.
Feed the apple to the dusty old mule using the syntax: feed apple mule. He whuffles at it and happily eats it. Congratulations you now have mule friendship! You may want to feed the apple to the mule after riding it to the broken wagon. After you get the two mules from the Roman Garrison both happily fed, or possibly after mule friendship the second one is easy, type harness mule wagon (possibly twice). Once the wagon is fixed, and loaded, we are ready to get some people in Orkney loaded as well. Type board wagon, you may have to drop your boat. Ride it into the stables of the Orkney tavern from the south and when you enter you will receive experience and a whois ...fixed a broken wagon and got the wine delivered.
In the sake of full disclosure I am sure you have noticed we never used the toy wagon, nor saw a wizard, that would be because I lied. Open the large sack and reach in to get your personal souvenir for completing one of the long lost quests of LegendMud!
