Syntax: steal <object> <victim> or steal coins <victim>
Allows you to steal items in your victim's inventory (NOT their equipped
items) or to steal coins.
Stealing from mobs:
Failure to steal might result in the mob noticing your attempt, and it may
or may not attack you for this. It is possible to steal from shopkeepers
(though you will likely be noticed), but doing so renders them unable to
produce more of whatever item has been taken from them. This is not a bug,
and immorts will not load items for players if someone has been inconsiderate
enough to steal part of a shopkeeper's stock.
Stealing from other characters:
You can't steal from other characters unless both you and your victim are
pk enabled. Other characters might notice your attempted theft, and respond
as they will.
You will not be able to give away any item you steal, and you will not be
able to use any coupons or restring any of your equipment with their strings.
The idea behind steal is that the item stolen should be recoverable as part
of an RP/PK experience, not booty for you to abscond with.
Effective 2/17/08 DO NOT STEAL FROM PLAYERS, EVEN IF YOU ARE BOTH PK.
DO NOT STEAL FROM HOUSES, LOOT PC CORPSES, etc.
